The Dragon is called back to Deep Space Nine to meet with Romulan ambassadors. The Romulan ambassadors claim that it was most likely the Federation ships that fired first, but this soon is put into question.
While the ambassadors attempt to contact the Romulan homeworld, Chris suddenly discovers that the Bajorans from the Kalium galaxy are aboard. They seek answers, possibly which can only be answered by the Emissary himself...
The Bajorans are not the only echoes of the past, however, as Chris finds a ghost's parents have arrived...and he must confront them as well.
